VIDEO - Newborn Session in Kitchen | Jessica Catherine Photography
/First, an admission: I’m not the best at blogging consistently and it’s been many months since this session, but better late then never!
Let’s start with the video:
As you saw, I photographed almost the entire session in this little man’s kitchen.
I chose that area not because it had the most space, but because it had the most beautiful light.
That decision truly paid off as shown in these portraits.
The light was so wonderful that I had some fun playing with some dramatic lighting like in this portrait, which turned out to be one of my favorites from this session:
It is not uncommon for someone to worry that their home doesn’t have beautiful natural light. I hear this from time to time when I’m speaking with clients on the phone.
This session shows you you don’t need a perfect window wall to create gorgeous portraits.
And you also don’t need a special, spacious room.
In fact, Iike in this session, I’m oftentimes passing over more spacious areas in lieu of more beautiful light.
Here are some other portraits from this session:
Parent images were created in the living room.
Mom and Dad enlarged their favorite family portrait and hung it in an area of their home where they will see it every day.
