What do you do?: Through chiropractic care I help the sick to get well, and the healthy to excel. As a chiropractor I analyze the spine for areas of subluxation, which are misaligned vertebra that cause irritation to the nerves which come out of the spine to supply the body. These subluxations have a negative impact on overall health as the signals going to and from the brain and body are not communicating as well as they should. Adjusting the areas of subluxation leads to optimal health by helping the nervous system (the master controller of the body) to function better by restoring these signals. We help the body heal from within, versus looking for an outside source.
What sets your business apart from others?: I specialize in pediatric and pregnancy chiropractic, and have greatly furthered my studies through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). I am certified in Webster technique, which is a specific analysis and adjustment of the pelvis and surrounding ligaments during all stages of pregnancy, which ultimately may lead to an easier, safer, and faster delivery through maintaining the balance of the pelvis. Through the ICPA, I’ve received my CACCP by completing 200 hours of study in pediatrics, submitting chiropractic research, and examinations. At our office we also have technology to scan the function of the nervous system, to help gather a better understanding of how to help each individual as they come through the door.
What should we know about your business and/or its offerings/services? : At Swede Family Chiropractic it is our goal to help you live your healthiest life possible. Whenever someone new comes to our office we want to learn what your health goals are, and explain how chiropractic can help you achieve these goals! We will do a full health history, postural analysis, orthopedic assessments, and a scan of the current function of your nervous system to come up with the best possible care plan for you!
Staff Member Introductions:
Dr. Doug Swede: Dr. Swede is the owner and founder of Swede Family Chiropractic, and has been helping families to reach optimal health in this location for over 11 years!
Carrie Ann: Carrie Ann is the amazing woman who runs our offices. She is the sweetest, most hard working person, and truly wants to see everyone in the practice thrive!
What did you want to be growing up: I always wanted to help people, but was not sure exactly how I wanted to do that! When I was in high school I learned what Chiropractic care was, and decided that was what I wanted to do! I was so drawn to Chiropractic because I learned that it was a way for people to naturally heal!
What inspired you to open your business?: Although Swede Family Chiropractic is not my business, I am an independent contractor within, and I was inspired to join the team here because I saw how much Dr. Doug inspired his members of his practice to live their best healthy lives. After losing family members to prescribed medications, I fell in love with chiropractic as a means to help people heal naturally, and from within!
What do you like doing in your free time?: In my free time I love practicing yoga, as a means to help keeping my body moving well and resetting my mind. I also love playing my saxophone, going to the gym, trying new restaurants, listening to music, and getting outdoors when it is nice outside!
Favorite local restaurant?: Umai Umai (Philadelphia)
Special offer: Anyone reading this blog will have a free evaluation in our office, which includes a full health history, a chiropractic examination, orthopedic assessments, a scan with our Insight Millennial Scanner, and a review of the findings (savings of $140)! We would love to meet you.
Any closing thoughts?: Chiropractic care may help benefit you in so many different ways, by helping to change the signals going to and from the brain. If you ever have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
